Grade 100 Chain

Canada's Supplier of Grade 100 Chain

Why Choose Hercules SLR Grade 100 Chain

Grade 100 chain is a high-strength, heat-treated alloy steel chain that is appropriate for overhead lifting and chain sling assemblies. Due to the added strength of grade 100 chain, it is also a popular choice within the transportation industry in securing loads. Grade 100 chain is essentially a stronger, more durable version of grade 80 chain – approximately 25% stronger. Grade 100 chain is also made of a stronger surface material which increases its durability.

Grade 100 chain is recommended for applications in which the user may be concerned about the strength-to-weight ratio of their lifting sling. However, it should be known that a grade 100 chain requires larger end fittings, especially when exceeding a ¾” link diameter and can be heavy and hard to handle.

Grade, indicated by a number embossed on the chain, represents the strength of the chain. As the chain grade increases the strength-to-weight ratio, working load limit (WLL), and material strength will also increase. Grade 100 chain will be marked with a 10, 100 or 1000.

Hercules SLR stocks a variety of chains at our 13 brick-and-mortar stores across Canada and our experts can help you identify what chain is best for your needs.
