Hercules Training Academy Course: Chain Saw Safety
OVERVIEW
This program is designed for anyone operating a chainsaw. It can be customised to accommodate the needs of chainsaw users such as municipal workers, private woodlot owners, surveyors, bridge builders, etc. This program covers the fundamentals of operating a chainsaw safely and covers important topics such as: sharpening and maintenance, danger tree identification and management, safe handling and felling and limbing. This courseincludes a practical component where participants will demonstrate their new skills in a treed environment.

FORMAT
The program is a combination of theory and practical training. Students are evaluated by means of a written test and a practical evaluation. Upon successful completion of the program, a certificate will be issued.
DURATION
½ day bucking only, 1 day and two day programs also available.
LOCATION
Training is delivered at the Hercules Training Academy or can also be delivered on-site.
REQUIRED PPE
CSA approved safety boots (chain saw cut resistant required in NB), safety glasses, hard hat (with visor), hearing protection, Chain saw cut resistant pants or chaps.
