Since 1975, Hercules MMS (formerly Fundy Grinding) has been providing customers with quality machining and millwright services. Over time, the company has grown exponentially from providing these services locally to working across Canada and around the globe.

What we are looking for

A strong self-starter to join us in the role of Business Development Manager in Truro NS. Reporting to the general manager, the business development manager is responsible for increasing sales of products and services in line with Hercules MMS strategic objectives. The Business Development Manager will develop sales and marketing strategies that are supported by operations and sales.  This person will also be responsible for driving specific sales campaigns.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifies opportunities for new product launches and services that lead to increased sales
  • Develops a pipeline of new business coming into the company
  • Works with the sales team to develop sales proposals that address the customer’s needs, concerns and objectives
  • Improves company market position to achieve financial growth and meet/surpass sales targets by identifying target customers, markets and industries
  • Works with operations, sales and marketing teams to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue for the company with new and existing customers
  • Applies knowledge of the market, industry and competitors to identify and develop unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Grows and retains existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to customers.

Qualifications

  • University or College Degree in business is preferred
  • Experience in selling technical and mechanical service
  • Millwright/machinist background would be an asset
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with computers using email and Microsoft Office
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, supervisors, peers, and subordinates

A strong self-starter to join us in the role of Branch Manager in Truro NS. Reporting to the general manager, the branch manager is responsible for overseeing all critical functions within the branch to ensure efficiency, safety and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages and coordinates branch activities with direct reports, sales and administration staff
  • Directs and coordinates branch financial and planning activities to fund operations, maximize investment and increase profitability
  • Establishes and implements branch policies, goals and objectives that are in line with the company strategy and communicate changes to all employees
  • Develops the operating budget and sales forecasts for the branch
  • Reviews branch performance data (financial statements, sales activity reports) to monitor productivity and achievement of results; and make cost and program adjustments
  • Prepares job quotes, bids, contact current and potential customers to drive sales
  • Establishes a working environment that fosters employee engagement and productivity
  • Implements company Performance Management program for employees
  • Mentors employees in career and professional development
  • Ensures a quality product is produced based on company and customer standards/expectations and specified requirements

Qualifications

  • A university/college degree preferably in Business Management or a related discipline, or a combination of a high school diploma and relevant work experience
  • Management experience in operations is required
  • Millwright or Machinist background is required
  • Experience in project management and overseeing large projects
  • Exposure to sales, accounting, management, and marketing
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable
  • Physical strength and stamina
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with computers using email and Microsoft Office

Our ideal candidate will represent Hercules with a strong positive attitude and a solutions-based approach to their work; all in an effort to ensure optimal client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day interactions and sales functions between clients, Territory Managers and the product supply functions within Hercules
  • Client service via telephone, in-person and electronic communications
  • Support Territory Managers with a focus on fulfilling quotations, orders and correspondence
  • Development of industry and product knowledge to enhance client service

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 of year experience in industrial sales or related customer service field (counter sales experience preferred)
  • Experience in industrial settings preferred.
