The role

 We are looking for a full time Life Raft Technician to work in our Spartan Industrial Marine branch in Dartmouth, NS. The Life Raft Technician prepares customer orders as per ISO and company work instructions ensuring quality standards are consistently met. Assists with various functions in the warehouse ensuring proper organization of warehouse and inventory/equipment.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection, pressure test and seam integrity test
  • Inspect emergency packs and replace expired items
  • Perform minor and major repairs
  • Repack marine equipment for shipment
  • Inspect new life raft to ensure all components are included
  • Maintains departmental inventory control
  • Perform double checks for co-workers’ tests and inspections

Required knowledge and training 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous relevant marine experience and product knowledge an asset
  • Willing to attain RFD and DFB Raft Certification within first year of employment
  • Able to safely lift 50 lbs. from floor level to waist level
  • Able to climb ladders and work at heights over 10’
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
