Hercules SLR, Supporting LNG Canada
LNG Canada is the country’s largest private-sector investment.
Even though the future of energy distribution and projects around the world remains uncertain, work on the projected $40 billion LNG Canada project in British Columbia continues apace. Natural gas is known for being cost-effective, clean-burning, and easy to store and transport.
LNG
Canada is a joint venture between Shell Canada Energy (40%) and
Petronas (25%) as well as PetroChina (15%), Mitsubishi Corporation
(15%), and Korea Gas Corporation (15%) in Kitimat, British Columbia, the
joint venture is currently constructing a liquefied natural gas (LNG)
export terminal. LNG’s top priorities are safety, shared economic value,
environmental performance, and social performance.Natural gas
must first be converted into LNG before it can be exported. This
decreases its bulk by 600 times, making it feasible to transport by LNG. 
LNG in Kitimat, B.C.LNG Canada is building an LNG export terminal in Kitimat B.C. Initially, two LNG processing units (called “trains”) with a capacity to produce 6.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG will be built, with an option to expand to four trains in the future, for a total estimated production capacity of 26 mtpa.
LNG Canada will export Canadian natural gas to Asian markets, putting Canada on the global map of LNG exporting countries and establishing a world-class LNG business in British Columbia and Canada.
